The Cherokee Nation opened its latest casino Thursday afternoon in Nowata County.
The tribe has hired more than 100 employees to work at the new operation in South Coffeyville.
Cherokee Principal Chief Bill John Baker joined other tribal leaders to commemorate the opening of the new Cherokee Casino South Coffeyville.
Cherokee Nation Entertainment, the gaming and hospitality arm of the Cherokee Nation broke ground on the 17,000-square-foot facility in August.

The $10 million development offers 300 electronic games and a dining venue featuring lunch, dinner and cocktail options.
The new casino is located just off Highway 169 south of the Oklahoma-Kansas state line.
