A Green Country father pleaded guilty in a devastating child neglect case Friday.

Police say 30-year-old Raymond Wofford III's 3-year-old was roaming the neighborhood, begging for food.

His 20-month-old daughter had nearly been starved to death, weighing only nine pounds, when found by neighbors. A doctor told police she had scoliosis and malnutrition.

Wofford pleaded guilty to two counts of child neglect and one count of throwing human waste on a police officer. Police say he spat on an officer while under arrest.

Wofford made a blind plea, which means he doesn't have a deal with prosecutors and will take whatever sentence the judge gives him in April.
