OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) _ Electric customers of Public Service Company of Oklahoma will get more than $9 million in rate credits and reductions beginning in June, the Oklahoma Corporation Commission announced Thursday.
A customer using 1,000 kilowatts of power a month will see an overall savings of $3.35 a month, the commission said.
The savings stem from the commission's 1999 five-step rate reduction process involving the required sale of generating capacity in a merger of American Electric Power and PSO's parent company, Central and South West Corp.
During the summer months, $4.2 million in savings will be passed along through the fuel adjustment clause portion of bills that reflects the cost of natural gas and coal used at power plants.
Other savings come in the form of a rate reduction credit worth $4.8 million.
