(Norman-AP) -- Wedding bells may be in former Oklahoma coach Barry Switzer's future.

Switzer and longtime girlfriend, Becky Buwick, applied for the license yesterday in Norman. Buwick is the O-U women's gymnastics coach.

Switzer hasn't been available to discuss the couple's plans. And Buwick is declining to reveal a wedding date. Says Buwick: If it happens, it happens.

The 62-year-old Switzer was O-U's football coach from 1973 until 1988. He was also head coach of the Dallas Cowboys.
