(Albany, New York-AP) -- There are nicotine patches to help people quit smoking. But a 'marijuana patch' for cancer patients?

The theory could become reality if research goes as planned at a pharmacy college in upstate New York. Researchers say the proposed pot patch will ease the pain, nausea and vomiting patients can suffer while undergoing chemotherapy.

The American Cancer Society is announcing the project tomorrow.
