Bethany police are expected to release more information Monday about a house fire that left one woman dead and another man badly injured.
Officers said they think the fire started as a domestic violence situation, but they are waiting to get inside the home before they give more information.
Police on scene said the damage to the home was limited to one room.
Neighbors said when the home, on Northwest 26th Street between Rockwell and MacArthur Avenue caught fire, they heard screaming and tried to help.
Paramedics took the two people involved to a local hospital, where the woman died. Police have not released her name yet.
Police said they were trying to notify the women's family and weren't ready to release any more information about the situation.
"At this point we have an idea of what's going on, but were not going to release any of that information right now," said Lt. Angelo Orefice with the Bethany Police Department.
Lt. Orefice said they would know more once they have a warrant and can search the home.
