An Uber driver charged with murder is back in jail, after just last week the Saudi Arabian government paid his bail to get out.
Prosecutors argued since Saudi Arabia posted the $500,000 bond, Omar Ba-Abbad has no personal incentive to show up in court, and the judge agreed.

However, the district attorney wanted the bond revoked, so Ba-Abad wouldn’t flee the country.
District Attorney Mark Collier argued that the money posted by Saudi Arabia doesn’t guarantee Ba-Abad’s appearance in court and the judge agreed.
Collier said the law requires someone posting bond to live in the state for at least six months and owning property. This way, something can be done if the suspect doesn’t show.
However, Ba-Abad’s attorney, Tommy Adler said he believes the judge’s decision to put Ba-Abad back in jail is based on a misunderstanding of bail laws.
Adler said the only requirement for a cash bond is anyone can post it on behalf of the person charged.
