Northwest OKC Medical Clinic Expanding Service, Offering COVID-19 Vaccinations

A northwest Oklahoma City food pantry and medical clinic is expanding services to give the community better access to the COVID-19 vaccine.

The Tulakes Free Clinic and Food Pantry said it is now registered as a COVID-19 vaccine provider. As soon as the shots are distributed, the clinic will be making them available to the community. As of Friday, they do not have any vaccines available to distribute.

“I’m excited about it. You know this is just my opinion, but I certainly think the benefits outweigh the risks,” said Kim Bryan the Clinic Director. “I’m excited for it to become available to our community.”

The clinic serves the community and anyone in the metro who needs medical care.

It mostly serves the uninsured, people who have not received care in a long time, and many that would be considered high risk.

That is why the director said it is important they get vaccinated.

The director said it sees a lot of COVID-19 patients. It provides free rapid testing and usually has the results ready within ten minutes.

Tulakes is only open every Saturday from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.
