Winter Weather Causes Accidents Involving Multiple Semi Trucks On Turner Turnpike

The Oklahoma City Fire Department is on the scene of a wreck involving multiple semi trucks.

The accidents happened on the Turner Turnpike near Post Road just before 3 p.m. Sunday afternoon.

OKCFD also received assistance from the Jones and Luther fire departments.

According to the OKCFD, one of the vehicle accidents on the westbound side of the Turner Turnpike involved two semi trucks, an SUV and another passenger vehicle. Two semis caught fire, but no injuries are confirmed at this time.

Hazardous material crews are also on scene to monitor any leaking fuel from the vehicles.

The accidents happened in both directions, which has caused the westbound and eastbound lanes to close on the Turner Turnpike.

The Oklahoma Turnpike Authority said that it is diverting westbound traffic to the Kickapoo Turnpike and eastbound traffic is being diverted to Interstate 35.
