Impactful Teacher Of The Month: Carol Ann Sallee

April's Impactful Teacher Of The Month is Carol Ann Sallee. Mrs. Salle has been an educator for about 30 years and is currently a Kindergarten teacher at the Janice K. Pollard Early Childhood Center in Collinsville.

Carol Ann plays piano by ear and is constantly playing music in her classroom.

For years she kept scrapbooks on all her students and even hosts Halloween parties for former students.

Carol Ann said that she wants to give her students the childhood that she had, thanks to her wonderful adoptive parents.

"They're happy here and they're safe. They love what they're doing. I love that it smells clean and good in my classroom and it's fun. Things that they may not ever have outside the classroom. If I can just make this their happy place for the time that I have them and leave them with memories that they'll always have, that's what I'm in here for," said Mrs. Sallee.

As a reward for being selected as April's Impactful Teacher, Carol Ann is getting $1,000 to spend however she likes thanks to T-Mobile.
