One of the most sought-after players on the NCAA transfer market made his commitment official Thursday.
Former Kansas guard and Tulsa native Bryce Thompson announced his intention to play ball for Mike Boynton and the Oklahoma State Cowboys.
Thompson chose the Pokes over Oklahoma and Tulsa, two of the state's other NCAA Division I programs. He will be eligible to play this fall.
Thompson's selection of the Cowboys is hardly a surprise considering he originally committed to Kansas over schools like OU and OSU back in 2019.
Though he battled injuries, Thompson couldn't make much of an imprint on the Jayhawks. He averaged just 4.6 points per game to go along with some dreadful shooting numbers (35.3 FG%, 22.2 3-point%) in a shade above 17 minutes of action per night.
Perhaps a change in a scenery, coupled with the departure of freshman sensation Cade Cunningham, could be what Thompson needs to find his offensive game once again.
As a senior at Tulsa's Booker T. Washington, Thompson averaged 25.1 points, 5.8 rebounds and 2.8 assists, was named the state's top prospect and a McDonald's All-American.
