At least eight different law enforcement agencies are expected to take part in a recruiting and hiring event at the Tulsa fairgrounds on Tuesday. A variety of positions within each department are now accepting applications.
The Oklahoma Highway Patrol, Tulsa County Sheriff’s Office and Tulsa, Owasso, Jenks, Broken Arrow, Bixby and Glenpool police departments are some of the agencies who will have recruiters at the event. Open positions range from deputy sheriff to trooper to police officer.
Broken Arrow Police are currently taking applications for officers through early August. They are also looking for dispatchers and other civilian positions.
“We’ve had people from all walks of life come in and become a police officer, some of my favorite ones didn’t plan to become a police officer and ended up eventually becoming a police officer,” said Officer Chris Walker, Broken Arrow Police.
The event will take place from 10:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. on the upper level of the River Spirit Expo Center. The event is free and there is no need to pre-register.
