The City and County of Tulsa are speaking up Wednesday to ensure landlords and tenants know their options when it comes to the federal eviction moratorium that ends on Saturday. The State of Oklahoma wants people to know there are still several routes of assistance available to those who need help paying rent.
On Wednesday at noon, Tulsa city and county leaders will come together to hold a news conference ahead of the moratorium’s end on Saturday.
The federal eviction moratorium has been in place since last summer, with the deadline extended by President Joe Biden and Former President Donald Trump several times as the pandemic continued.
Now with only days left, local resources like the “Emergency Rental Assistance Program” want to remind people they are available to help anyone in need.
The program launched back in March and so far has given out more than $4 million in rental and utility assistance to more than 1,000 homes.
ERAP is funded through the city, county, and state and will continue to provide rental assistance through September 30 2022, or until the funds run out.
