Tulsa Police arrested an Owasso man accused of kidnapping a seven-year-old girl last month in Tulsa.
Police said this investigation was a huge team effort and took weeks as officers narrowed down a list of thousands of trucks until they found the one belonging to the suspect.
Police said Christopher Webb saw a seven-year-old girl outside playing, grabbed her and put her in his truck as she was kicking and screaming. They said the girl's aunt chased after them, screaming until Webb stopped and let the girl go.
Lt. John Adams said it started after Webb followed the aunt and a nine-year-old girl home from the store, then saw the seven-year-old playing. The little girl told police never said a word to her.
Adams said they used surveillance video to find unique marks on Webb's truck and started comparing that description to thousands of other trucks until they found the one.
"We were frantically searching the haystack for the needle," Adams said. "There were some long nights we worried about finding him before he could abduct a child."
Webb is in the Tulsa County Jail for kidnapping and having a gun as a felon.
