OSBI agents are investigating after they found a woman's body Monday in Delaware County.
It comes after investigators found belongings and a burnt-up car that belonged to an elderly woman, who has been missing for days.
A family friend of 82-year-old Ava Moore said the grandmother went missing last week on her way to an eye appointment and this is unimaginable.
OSBI said Ava Moore went missing on Wednesday from her Springdale, Arkansas home.
On Sunday, investigators got a call that someone found Ava's purse in a rural area of Kansas, Oklahoma.
A family friend, Barry Yaffe, said he went to help with the search in Delaware County and found Ava's burned-up car and belongings like her glasses and clothes.
On Monday investigators found a woman's body near the burnt car.
The medical examiner will identify the body.
Yaffe said Ava is a mother of three and has several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He describes her as a kind, loving woman who wouldn't hurt a fly and knows someone must be responsible for this.
He's pleading for someone to come forward.
"She raised her daughter to be sweet people, she wouldn't hurt anybody," Yaffe said. "For this to happen to them, it's just a tragic deal."
Anyone who knows about Ava's disappearance or the woman's body found in Delaware County should contact the OSBI at (800) 522-8017 or tips@osbi.ok.gov. You can also call the Springdale Police Department at (479) 751-4542.
