The Sapulpa Fire Department is investigating a house fire that happened on Thursday.

Investigators say the fire started on the back porch of a house near East Taft Avenue and South Division Street shortly after 2 p.m. Thursday afternoon.

They say the fire extended into the attic.

Firefighters say one person was inside the home with a dog and a cat.

"We had a great response, the hydrant was close by, the homeowner was home when it happened. They called 911 right away. We were able to get it under control very quickly," said Chief Darren Inbody.

Firefighters say they don't know what started the fire, but say they were able to save the home.
