The Oklahoma Highway Patrol is investigating after they say a woman was killed in a crash involving a semi-truck on I-44 near the 41st Street exit in Tulsa. Investigators say the two people inside the cab of the semi were not injured.
Troopers say they were called around 1 a.m. on Tuesday morning. They say the 50-year-old Amanda Thomas was traveling westbound and crashed into the moving semi.
Investigators say they are not sure how fast Thomas was driving, but she crashed into the back of the semi, which was also traveling down the highway. Troopers say her car ended up off the road and she was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The outside lane of I-44 was closed while the investigation took place, all lanes have since been reopened.
Authorities have not yet released the name of the victim and say the crash is still under investigation.
