Surveillance video shows a guy keying a car parked on Cherry Street over the weekend, the owner hopes someone will recognize him.
“You see a clear view of him walking in front of the car, he reaches in his pocket, pulls out a key or something, and starts at the front bumper," said Michael Cagle.
He didn't find the damage until the next morning and immediately found the footage that his Tesla recorded.
“I was just going through there and actually to see if I was really shocked. I didn’t expect to see it and didn’t expect an older gentleman to do it either. I was surprised, very surprised," said Cagle.
He estimates the damage will cost him up to $6,000.
"He leans into it kind of at one point to make sure it goes in deep and it gets it from the front fender to the back fender," said Cagle.
He's sharing his story hoping someone will recognize the man who caused the damage.
“I don’t know him and we were in the restaurant for a while when this happened so it wasn’t like we had an interaction outside or I cut him off or something like that. I have no idea who he is. I would say it’s definitely because of the Tesla," said Cagle.
He's had the car less than eight months and is shocked a stranger would target him.
“Kind of wonder if somebody did that to him he would probably be in the same kind of boat you know. A little bit upset about it," said Cagle.
Tulsa police believe Cagle was targeted because of the type of car he has. They haven't had reports of vandalism in the area. If you know anything about the vandalism you can call 918-696-COPS.
