Oklahoma Recording Artist Aspires To Be Oklahoma's Next Big Star

The list of music superstars who call Oklahoma home is long. From Garth to Toby, the list just keeps growing. One Oklahoma artist is hoping to add her name to the list of legends. 

She’s known as Brizee, and she aspires to be the next big star from Oklahoma. 

“I feel like, I have big shoes to fill, but you know I also feel like I’m capable of anything,” said Brizee.  

The music seed was planted for Brizee while in high school. 

“I was able to go to an amazing high school, Harding Fine Arts for my senior year and that really kind of pushed me in the direction of the fine arts,” said Brizee. 

She recalls her friends and family seeing her talents and encouraging her to try out for a karaoke contest. 

“So, I stepped out on a limb and went ahead and did the karaoke competition and I ended up winning,” said Brizee.  

That was the spark she needed to pursue her music.  

“Feeling the crowd’s energy and feeling like that is where I was meant to be,” said Brizee.  

She has performed on some of the biggest stages in the world including The Appollo. At the urging of her husband, she booked studio time and recorded songs by other artists, but that didn’t go over so well with her producer. 

“Next time you’re in here I want you to bring your own stuff. He said you are too talented not to be writing your own stuff,” said Brizee.  

Brizee writes songs to help her listeners.  

“That’s really my main objective is to be an encouragement and just help people,” said Brizee.  

She’s recording at Castle Row Studio, a studio used by Lil’ Wayne, Afro Man, and even Blake Shelton, sending her message out to the world. 

“I really have a heart for people and that’s really my main objective is to reach people and to reach their heart,” said Brizee.
