Child Hit By Car In Tulsa, Police Investigating

A child was hit by a car near East 43rd Street North and North Garrison Avenue in Tulsa on Thursday night, police said.

Police said the driver was an elderly woman who was driving northbound when the child may have ran into unseen traffic.

The driver's vehicle had working headlights and was within the speed limit, police said.

The child was transported by EMSA to a local hospital with a possible broken femur and a traumatic brain injury, police said.

At this time, the child was somewhat stable with a focus on monitoring the brain injury, police said.

Police said they obtained the driver’s information and she was released from the scene with the understanding the traffic investigation is ongoing.
