OSBI Investigating After Human Remains Found Near Site Of Stroud House Fire

Human remains were discovered near the scene of a house fire that happened last week in Stroud, Okla. 

The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation as well as Stroud law enforcement are investigating what caused the fire and how many potential victims were inside of the home during the fire.

Residents in the area said they are now wanting answers.

Family and community members of the neighborhood are wondering what happened to two people who neighbors said went missing after a house fire.

OSBI Public information officer Gerald Davidson said the fire was reported last week and crews on the scene searched the house and didn't find anyone.

It wasn’t until overnight that residents in the area discovered remains near the home.

The State Medical Examiner’s Office is working to determine the cause of death and how many people were in the home at the time of the fire.
