Pop-Up Clinic At SageNet Center Offers Free Health Care Services To Those In Need

The OSU Center for Health Sciences is partnering with Remote Area Medical (RAM) to put on a free clinic at the SageNet Center this weekend for anyone in need. The two-day pop-up clinic will provide a variety of health care services, including dental, medical and vision services.

All of the services will be free of charge and on a first come-first served basis. No ID or insurance is required.

RAM's goal is to provide access to health care for anyone who needs it or in some cases, may not receive certain kinds of care because they don't have insurance that covers specific services.

"Our hope is afterward to get people referred back into the health care system in Oklahoma. They can continue having the care that they need," Stacie Pace, Network Director at OSU Center for Health Systems Innovation said.

RAM puts these clinics on all over the country, and RAM invites anyone to come out. RAM is trying to remove barriers to health care as much as possible understanding that there could be many different reasons why people cannot get access to adequate health care.

"Our focus is on removing or decreasing the barriers that people encounter when seeking health care, so that could be economic reasons, it could be access. It could be anything from fear of going into a clinical setting," Audra Fitzgerald, the RAM senior clinic coordinator said.

The doors to the clinic at the SageNet Center will open at 6 a.m. on both Saturday , May 6 and Sunday, May 7. However, people can begin lining up at the Expo Center at 11:59 p.m. on Friday, May 5.
