It is severe weather season in Oklahoma and local health care workers say the weather could be to blame for your headaches.
Talisha Nichols, a nurse practitioner at Utica Park Clinic who specializes in neurology, says changes in barometric pressure can cause headaches, because the pressure in our head is different from the surrounding environment.
It can be especially hard on people who move to Oklahoma from other states.
"I have a lot of patients that are from Oklahoma, but I also have a lot of patients who move here from other states and get more severe and frequent headaches just from the changes in weather patterns from the state that they moved here from," said Nichols.
Nichols says her office sees a 10% to 20% increase in patients complaining of headaches this time of year.
