Dr. Phil To Speak At State Capitol In Support of Death Row Inmate Richard Glossip

Television personality and Oklahoma-native Dr. Phil McGraw is set to speak at a rally at the state capitol, calling for Death Row inmate Richard Glossip to be granted clemency.

The rally where Dr. Phil will speak comes after the U.S. Supreme Court ordered a stay of execution on Friday, putting Glossip's May 18 execution on hold.

"This would be a terrible miscarriage of justice," Dr. Phil said. "I don’t care if you’re pro-death penalty or not, everyone agrees that we should absolutely get this right. There is substantial doubt regarding Richard Glossip."

The Friday stay of execution allows the court to consider two appeals filed by Glossip's lawyers.

A member of Glossip's legal team said the Supreme Court now has to consider whether Glossip's lawyers have a case that could go their way at trial.
