Plans to bring a baseball development to Jenks have a lot of people talking.
The Jenks City Council is supposed to discuss the potential project at Tuesday night's meeting, but the mayor is now asking to push the vote until next month.
Residents in the area said they have serious concerns about the impact this project could have on traffic and neighborhoods in the area.
Developers want to build a state-of-the-art competition baseball park in Jenks near 106th and Elm. The baseball park would be sitting on 27 acres of land.
Neighbors gathered at the Jenks library, which is across the street from city hall, to express their concerns about this new development.
People in favor of the development believe it would be a great business move for the city of Jenks, while many neighbors are concerned it will add a lot of traffic to their residential area.
The people gathered here will go to the Jenks City Council meeting at 6 p.m. Tuesday night, where this development is one of the things on the agenda.
Residents have been expressing their opinions through a Facebook group, which now has over 800 members.
Mayor Cory Box and the city council were unavailable for comment. However, the mayor posted on Facebook that he wants to postpone the vote until sometime in late June, with hopes to give more time to gather information and address any questions or concerns residents have.
