A man has been charged with murder after a Native American woman was found dead last week at the Wichita Mountains Wildlife Refuge, according to Lawton, Okla. TV station KSWO.
The report said that court documents revealed that Tevin Semien has been charged with first-degree premeditated murder in connection to the incident.
The woman’s body was found on May 17, and her home was searched on May 19, according to the report.
The report also stated that there was evidence of a violent struggle and blood inside of her home, and her car was missing.
On May 21, the car was seen driving in Dallas, Texas, when authorities attempted to conduct a traffic stop before the vehicle drove off.
The report said that Semien and another individual fled from the scene of the crash, but they were soon taken into custody.
Court documents revealed that when Semien was questioned, he admitted to being responsible for killing the victim by hitting her with a brick, the report said.
Court documents also stated that Semien had allegedly told authorities that the individual he was with was related to the victim and asked him to kill her.
Semien was booked into the Navarro County Jail.
Authorities have not identified the identity of the female victim.
