Authorities say a homicide investigation is underway after a woman was found dead inside a car at a Bixby park.
Bixby Police identified the victim as Kara Nicole Ballard, 40, Monday afternoon.
According to the police, just after 10 p.m. on Sunday, officers were called to conduct a welfare check on Kara, whose children were worried about her. Police say they located the car at Washington Irving Memorial Park, near East 136th Street South and South Memorial Drive, and found Ballard dead inside.
Police arrested, Travis Glenn Ballard, 33, after a pursuit with law enforcement ended in a crash near Northeast 1st Street in Pryor.

There is a large police presence at a park in Bixby on Monday morning.
News On 6 crews first arrived on the scene around 1 a.m. and saw police in the area and crime scene tape up at the park.
News On 6 crews reached out to Bixby Police about the situation, but authorities have not provided any information.
Police have blocked off all of the park's entrances and it is currently unclear why officers are on the scene.
