A lot of people are turning to wood-burning fireplaces to stay warm indoors.
Todd Rickert with Rickert Landscaping and Tree Service said he still has customers coming in to buy firewood as they make last-minute preparations.
He says when picking out firewood, it's important to look at how it cracks together, which will indicate how dry it is, which makes it easier to burn.
"A lot of the wood that is here came from trees that we cut down from the Father's Day storm that fell on someone's house or their neighbor's house, the backyard, or the fence," Rickert said.
Rickert also says this is an important reminder to have trees inspected to help prevent issues like what happened during the Father's Day storm.
