President Biden held his first solo news conference since November Thursday. The President stated he was determined to stay in the race for President despite concern from members of his party after June's debate performance. Biden said he would remain in the race until his staff says, "There's no way you can win."

What questions did Biden answer during his news conference?

During the conference, Biden answered questions about foreign and domestic policy, and his ability to continue to serve another term as president.

Throughout the conference, President Biden stumbled when answering questions.

When asked about the ability of Vice President Kamala Harris to beat Donald Trump, he said:

"Look, I wouldn't have picked Vice President Trump to be vice president if I didn't think she was qualified to be vice president,"

Biden stated that foreign policy is something is more than capable of handling.

“There isn’t any world leader I’m not prepared to deal with,” said Biden.

He also vowed to maintain a hardline against Russian President Vladimir Putin: “If we allow Russia to succeed in Ukraine, they’re not stopping in Ukraine.

Biden's work with NATO

Biden started the conference by talking about the value of NATO to the United States.

“Every American must ask herself or himself, is the world safer with NATO?” he asked.

Later, to assure a European journalist asking about governments on that continent worrying Trump could win, Biden launched into a detailed recounting of how he helped shepherd Finland into the alliance. After that, he went into detail about how to push back against China for supporting Russia during its war against Ukraine and contended he will continue to be able to deal with Putin and Chinese President Xi Jinping.

Biden says he doesn't need to undergo cognitive testing

When asked if he would undergo cognitive testing, Biden said his job as president was proof of his mental capacity.

Biden also said he has had multiple exams done by neurologists. He said that if his doctors say they “think I should have a neurological exam again, I’ll do it,” but he added: “No one’s suggesting that to me now.”
