Tyree Carlisle and Demarco Jones met the with media after practice for the Golden Hurricane on Thursday.
Both players are part of a mature group of players that the Tulsa defense will need to help propel the team toward a winning season in 2024.
Former Union and Sooners star Dominique Franks is in his first year as the cornerbacks coach for Tulsa.
"He's a player-led coach first," said Jones of Franks. "He's always for the players and everything outside of football. He's been there at the top level, he's played at a prestigious college, knows the ends and outs of where we need to be."

Add those numbers to his efforts while at OSU and you have a player with over 40 games of experience that will be needed on a defense that is looking for standouts.
"The team vibe is different from previous coaches," according to Carlisle. "You can tell all the guys love each other and want to be here."
Tyree is a redshirt senior for the Golden Hurricane after transferring from Independence Community College in 2021. Carlisle started 8 games last season and has played in 34 career games.
