Collinsville Cardinals Look To Returning Players To Lead 2024 Season

The Cardinals are looking to a couple of returning players to help set the tone for the 2024 season.

Returning quarterback Skyler Moorman is back after a stellar sophomore season, and so is running back Scott Rigby. Rigby shared carries last season and still managed over 1,100 yards, but this season looks to be a little different.

The junior will not only get the majority of carries at running back, but he has also switched positions on defense from linebacker to safety.

A run to the playoffs last year ended at the hands of Carl Albert for the Cardinals. Head coach Kevin Jones doesn't want to dwell on the past.

"We can learn from the past, but we can't do anything about it," said Jones. "It's behind us. We try to focus on what's in front of us."

Collinsville opens the season at home against Cushing on August 29.
