Osage SkyNews 6 captured the moment an antique aircraft landed at Tulsa International Airport on Friday.
"Hairless Joe" is a C-47 cargo plane used during World War II that's visiting the Tulsa Air And Space Museum.
“As a community rich with World War II history, we are honored to have this rare aircraft plan a 3-day visit here in Tulsa,” said Tonya Blansett, Executive Director of The Tulsa Air and Space Museum & Planetarium.
The aircraft represents a plane by the same name flown by the legendary Lt.Col. Dick Cole in the 319th Troop Carrier Squadron within the 1st Air Commando. The “Hairless Joe” name was picked by Cole’s crew and inspired by the character from the Lil’ Abner comic strip of the 1940s.
You can go up in the aircraft for about $190 but flights are filling up fast. There will also be tours at the museum for ten dollars all weekend long.
