Tulsa Traffic Update: Lane Closures, Construction Delays On Oklahoma Roadways (Oct. 22, 2024)

The Oklahoma Department of Transportation (ODOT) and Oklahoma Turnpike Authority (OTA) have provided details on several Tulsa and surrounding regions' traffic advisories.

Road Closures and Construction Projects in the Tulsa area

Oklahoma Transportation and Turnpike Authority Updates

I-44 and US-412 Closures - Wednesday

1. Westbound I-44 on-ramp from 33rd W. Ave. closed 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. for surface work.
2. US-412 on-ramp from 81st W. Ave. in Sand Springs closed 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. for drainage maintenance.

Ongoing Construction Projects

I-44/Turner Turnpike at Wellston

1. Lane shifts near SH-66 as part of bridge reconstruction.
2. Eastbound I-44 narrowed to one lane at mm 157-158 Tuesday and Wednesday nights, 8 p.m. to 6 a.m.
3. Major eastbound lane shift starting Thursday through summer 2025.
4. SH-66 in Wellston is closed between SH-102 and US-177 for up to a year.

Will Rogers Turnpike - Vinita

1. Westbound I-44 will be narrowed to one lane at mm 289 on Wednesday from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. for bridge repairs.

Muskogee Turnpike - SH-165/Peak Blvd.

1. Westbound SH-351 will be narrowed to one lane near mm 41 for surface repairs through Sunday.

I-44/Turner Turnpike - Heyburn

1. Expect shoulder closures and narrow lanes between mm 201-203 through fall as work begins to widen the turnpike to six lanes.
2. W. 211th St. closed for bridge construction through summer 2025.

Ongoing Highway Construction

I-244 in West Tulsa

1. Westbound I-244 is closed between US-75 (mm 2) and I-44 (mm 1A) for pavement rehabilitation through spring 2025.
2. I-244 is narrowed to two lanes between US-75 and the Arkansas River.
3. Several ramp closures in the area:
4. Off-ramps to 21st St. and 23rd St.
5. On-ramp from Southwest Blvd. near 23rd St.
6. 48th St. at Southwest Blvd. is also closed.

US-75 Near Glenpool

1. Narrowed lanes and reduced speed limits near 141st St. for bridge construction, lasting through summer 2025.

SH-97 in Sand Springs

1. Pavement rehabilitation on SH-97 from S. Main St. to W. 2nd St. continues through spring 2025.
2. Center turn lanes at US-412 are closed until further notice.

Intersection Improvement in Broken Arrow

1. Ongoing work at SH-51 and 91st St., with a speed limit reduction in place through fall 2024.
2. Motorists are advised to plan ahead and expect delays during these projects.
