License Extended For Tulsa Co. Commissioners To Operate Juvenile Justice Center

The probationary license has been extended for the Tulsa County Commissioners to run the juvenile justice center.

County commissioners took control of the center in July after current and former residents sued, accusing workers of sexual abuse and bringing in contraband.

The county has applied for state money to provide staff training.

The center will also add staff and make sure residents have access to mental health support.

They said they are creating a detailed plan to correct issues found in a state assessment.
