Tulsa County Deputies arrested a Green Country woman and her mother, who are accused of taking more than $30,000 from an 84-year-old woman with dementia.

Erika Henry and Donna Henry are both at the Tulsa County Jail.

The sheriff's office says they were caught after the victim's family noticed red flags on bank statements and reported it to deputies.

This mother and daughter are arrested -- accused of taking advantage of an 84-year-old woman with dementia.

"I think you had an elderly citizen who felt a little lonely, just wanted some connection,” said Deputy Richie Gonzales.

38-year-old Erika Henry is charged with exploitation of a vulnerable adult.

58-year-old Donna Henry is charged with conspiracy to commit a felony.

Deputy Gonzales with the Tulsa County Sheriff's Office says Erika met the victim earlier this year while working in the kitchen of a senior living center.

"When the elderly citizen moved to a permanent apartment, that relationship continued,” Gonzales said.

Gonzales says in May, Erika and Donna took the woman to a car dealership and had her pay off Erika's car.

"They had helped her to make out a check for over $19,000,” he said. “They did represent her as a grandmother, family member to staff at the local dealership as well, so there was some thought that went into this."

Investigators say the victim thought she was paying for tires.

They also say the victim's card was used to pay for utilities for the home that Erika and Donna live in.

Gonzales says the victim's bank statements also list about $10,000 worth of questionable transactions.

"This family was looking through their loved one's bank statements, saw some irregularities that flagged them,” he said.

Gonzales says we all need to be involved in making sure the vulnerable are not taken advantage of.

Investigators are looking to see if there are any other victims.

If more transactions are connected to the suspects, there could be new charges coming.
