The Bristow school board held its first meeting Monday night since the arrest of a long-time employee who has been charged with videotaping middle school boys in a locker room while they were undressing.
Hundreds of people showed up, and many of those are worried other students have come forward with allegations against Floyd Robinson for the past five decades and the district did nothing about it.

Many of the parents say they’re glad Robinson is being investigated, and they hope if this was a long-term problem, those details will come to light.
The school board president said the district learned about allegations against 74-year-old Robinson on February 27th. Police say a dozen students came forward and said they saw Robinson walking through the locker room with a cell phone recording the boys as they were changing clothes.

The school board says Robinson has worked for the district since August 1st, 1974. They say his current role before he was arrested, was as Activities Director and a volunteer coach. The board said the most recent background check conducted on Robinson was done three years ago in February of 2021 and it came back clean.
Marla Wahl was the only person who signed up to give public comment at the meeting, and she says many people have told her that similar allegations have been brought to the district about Robinson but no action was taken. Wahl says she spoke for all the parents in Bristow who were worried about possible consequences for their kids.
“When it comes to my own children, I’ll die on that hill,” said Wahl. “And I think most parents would. As I said, there are a lot of people who would have spoken and didn’t. And not because of retaliation against them, but fear of retaliation against their children.”
Another parent says he is hoping for justice.
“Once videos get out there, you can’t take them back,” said Shawn Eldredge. “I feel for the kids that this has happened to. As long as that teacher was employed here, I believe it’s adding up to close to 50 years, I don’t believe this is the first time it’s happened. I hope I'm wrong, for the sake of the kids I hope I’m wrong.”
Robinson is scheduled to be in Creek County Court on Tuesday.
