Fresh Salsa

Description

Welcome to the Cooking Corner! We are pleased to welcome back Anna Hicks from Hillcrest, who will show us how to make an easy, fresh salsa for this summer.


Ingredients

  •  Roma Tomatoes
  • 1/3 cup Cilantro
  • 1/2 White or Yellow Onion
  • 1 Jalapeno - remove seeds for milder taste
  • 2 Garlic Cloves can substitute with 1 tablespoon of minced garlic
  • 1 tablespoon Lime Juice
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • Pinch of Sugar
  • Pinch of Pepper

Instructions

  1. Step 1: Roughly chop tomatoes and place half into the blender.
  2. Step 2: Add lime juice to blender.
  3. Step 3: Roughly chop the onion and jalapeno and add to the blender along with garlic cloves.
  4. Step 4: Add the remaining chopped tomatoes, cilantro, sugar, salt and pepper.
  5. Step 5: Pulse ingredients until the blender gets going (add a couple of tablespoons of water if needed).
  6. Step 6: Blend at low speed until the salsa is smooth.
  7. Step 7: Let it sit for 1-2 hours in the fridge for bolder flavors.
